Plain is built API-first. There are no limitations in what can be done via our API versus the app, so an agent you bring gets the same identity, the same tools, and the same audit trail as anyone on your team. That makes Plain a good home for an agent you want to own:
  • Your agent gets a machine user identity, so everything it does is attributable and permissioned like a user’s.
  • Plain keeps running the infrastructure around it: routing, queues, SLAs, business hours, and handoffs to humans.
  • You are not locked in. Swap agents later and your support operation stays intact.
There are two places an agent you bring can work, and they are independent. Bring one, the other, or both.

Support agent

Your agent works customer threads alongside your team, with its own identity and reporting.

Internal agent

Your team asks your agent questions inside Plain, where they ask Sidekick.
If you would rather not build one, several third-party agents already integrate with Plain.
